
One of Qubit’s core services is Staff / Resource augmentation. Some customers use the term “workforce on demand”, flexible workforce or “team in a box” but what exactly is it?
Resource/staff augmentation is a business strategy where companies bring in external consulting professionals to temporarily supplement their existing in-house workforce for specific projects, or to fill niche skill gaps. It's essentially a flexible staffing model that allows organisations to "augment" their team with specialist talent and consultants quickly and flexibly without making permanent hires.
As example, Qubit was recently approached by one of our clients to provide several of our front-end development team for a mobile application project.
The main differences between this and standard "contingent workforce" are the consultants are already vetted and utilised by Qubit and are often onboarded by us. As a client and partner, you are able to 'dial up or down 'your utilisation of the resources based on project demand (ie reducing hours / days or increasing immediately, growing the team quickly with additional resources) and you can either share responsibility of outcomes with us or alternatively use this model for Qubit to provide full outcome and risk for the project.
